Indoor track: Greenfield, Frontier, Mahar, Mohawk Trail compete in second meet of season

The second PVIAC indoor track meet of the season took place on Sunday at Smith College, with Frontier, Greenfield, Mahar and Mohawk Trail participating.
The Green Wave and the Senators opened the day in the early meet before the Redhawks and the Warriors competed in the late meet.
Here’s a closer look at how each team did:
The Redhawk boys came away with a trio of wins, knocking off Baystate (77-6), Mohawk Trail (59-29) and South Hadley (51-44).
Ben Cachiguango won the 55-meter hurdles (7.99 seconds), placed fourth in the 55 (6.86) and seventh in the 300 (39.11), Adrien Pazmandy came in second in the 600 (1:31.43), Augustus Radner placed fourth in the 600 (1:33.89), Oliver Brown earned third in the 1,000 (2:57.59), Adam Paul came in ninth in the 5:26.79, Hengxi Yue placed eighth in the 2 mile (11:42.58), Oliver Brown placed third in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches), Ezra Rich took fourth in the shot put (36-5.5), Julian Adams placed 10th in the shot put (32-9.75), Tavo Vincent Warner came in ninth in the 55 hurdles (9.82) and Tegan Dexter took ninth in the 300 (40.70). The Redhawk 4x200 relay team took third (1:39.17).
The Frontier girls earned wins over Baystate (91-0) and Mohawk Trail (87-4) but suffered a loss to South Hadley (57-38).
Lilly Novak won the shot put (30-4.5), Abbigayle Grover took sixth in shot put (26-3.75), Josie Fosnot placed 10th in the 55 (8.20) and fourth in the 300 (45.84), Hannah Davis earned second in the 55 hurdles (9.96), Julia Morse finished in seventh in the 55 hurdles (10.85), Madelyn Antes took 10th in the 300 (48.83), in the girls 600 Perla Ordaz took fourth (1:54.99), Phoebe Radner placed fifth (1:56.42), Claire McFarland came in sixth (1:57.15) and Sadie Griffin took 10th (2:06.86), Sasha Malo came in sixth in the 1,000 (3:51.50), Nora Sloan took seventh in the 1,000 (3:55.81), Liv Christensen took eighth in the 2 mile (14:09.12), Mary Burt won the high jump (4-10) while Maia Christensen took fifth (4-8) in the high jump, Hannah Davis placed eighth in the long jump (13-7.5) and Ashley Rivard came in ninth in the long jump (13-4).
The Green Wave girls picked up a pair of wins on Sunday, knocking off Commerce (33-21) and Mahar (30-27) but falling to Hampshire (68-22).

Suhani Patel placed 10th in the 55 hurdles (11.99) and fourth in the long jump (4-6) while Holly Babineau took 16th in the 55 (8.49), the 600 (2:07.38) and the long jump (12-8.5).
The Greenfield boys earned wins over Commerce (74-8) and Hampshire (46-41) but fell to Mahar (50.5-42.5) on Sunday.
Javion Williams came in seventh in the 55 hurdles (10.02) and the high jump (5-2), Dylan Breiwick took ninth in the mile (5:13.16), Alex Scotera placed ninth in the 2 mile (11:42.93) and Jerry Ven came in eighth in the shot put (35-10.75).
The Mahar boys had a successful day on Sunday, defeating both Commerce (72-4) and Greenfield (50.5-42.5).
Mitchell Krasco led the way for the Sens, winning the 55 hurdles (8.40), high jump (5-10) and long jump (19-4.5). Mathieu Soucy took fourth in the 55 (7.02) and third in the 300 (38.30) while David Phelps came in second in the 55 hurdles (8.97) and fifth in the long jump (17-8.5).
The Senator girls beat Commerce (31-24) but lost to Greenfield (30-27) on Sunday.
Stellina Moore won the high jump (4-10), took second in the 55 hurdles (10.04) and placed eighth in the long jump (13-7.5) while Beliah Esteves came in 20th in the long jump (10-10.5) for Mahar.
Avery Johnston earned an eighth place finish for the Warriors in the girls shot put (25-8.5) as Mohawk Trail fell to Frontier, 87-4. Lily Jenks placed 15th in the 55 hurdles (11.62) and the 300 (53.14) in the loss.
The Mohawk Trail boys lost to Frontier, 59-29. Tanner Biagini came in ninth in the 55 (7.11) and sixth in the 300 (38.96), Peter Healy took fourth in the 1,000 (2:59.37) and third in the mile (4:56.10), Qwade Niquette came in fifth in the high jump (5-2) and ninth in the long jump (17-2.5) while Chay Mojallali took fifth in shot put (35-9.5).
