NEW SALEM—Two people were hospitalized following an accident Wednesday evening.

According to New Salem Fire Chief Joe Cuneo, the accident occurred on Route 202, south of the center of town and was reported at 6:26 p.m. Cuneo said that two vehicles had gone over a small embankment. Additional units were dispatched from the Orange Fire Department.

Cuneo said that two people were transported to area hospitals following the accident.
