ROYALSTON – Members of the Royalston South Village Revitalization Committee appeared at Tuesday’s Selectboard meeting, urging them to join an effort lobbying for the release of $1 million in the state’s economic development bond bill earmarked for work on the King Street Bridge.

WENDELL — No injuries were reported after a freight train carrying merchandise derailed in Wendell Tuesday afternoon, knocking 15 railroad cars off the track, according to Wendell Fire Chief Joe Cuneo.
2:31 p.m. - Party calling about witnessing a vehicle all over the road on Templeton Road, almost hitting another vehicle head-on after crossing lanes. Officer spoke with operator and passenger. No sign of impairment. Operator stated he dropped a cigarette and was picking it up off the vehicle floor.

ERVING — Three Erving police officers and a mental health clinician with Clinical & Support Options (CSO) have been formally commended for their lifesaving actions in two different incidents involving suicidal individuals at the French King Bridge.

9:34 a.m. - Reporting party states a Ford Ranger passed him, cut him off and almost hit him. Officers responded and spoke with all involved parties. Reporting party sent on his way after calming him down. Conflicting stories from both parties. Operator of Ranger was advised of the complaint, he wanted it on record about reporting party’s aggressive behavior in case something happens.
